Visual Curation
A visual curation and editorial direction project for a cultural publication launching its print edition. [REPLACE]
Overview
[REPLACE] The publication had built a significant digital readership over three years, but launching a print edition required a complete rethink of how the work was sequenced, paced, and held. Digital logic doesn't translate to paper.
The Approach
[REPLACE] We approached the first issue as a proof of concept for what the publication could be in print: slower, more deliberate, willing to give images room to breathe. The curation was built around contrast — between scale, density, and tone.
The Outcome
[REPLACE] The first print edition sold out within two weeks of launch and established a visual identity for the publication that has since been applied across all subsequent issues and digital touchpoints.
